FISH SAUCE PRODUCERS (HOUSEHOLDS AND SMES) IN KHANH HOA PROVINCE REACH IN EXPORT MARKETS THROUGH THE GLOBAL COMPETITIVENESS FACILITY FOR VIETNAMESE ENTERPRISES (GCF) FUNDED BY DEMARK GOVERNMENT

Vietnam has such suitable natural resources and good anchovy materials for making best quality fish sauce. In spite of that, Thailand is the country leading fish sauce exporting markets in many decades. Recently, thank to GCF project, 584 Nha Trang Sea Product JSC as well as many other Fish Sauce households and SMEs in Khanh Hoa province are helped to become more competitive in export markets through improved access to technical, testing, quality control and export services.

On 3rd January 2014, the Danish Ambassador John Nielsen had a visit to 584 Nha Trang Sea Product JSC and other small fish sauce producers under this GCF project.

This was the first time in Khanh Hoa province that 584 Nha Trang Sea Product JSC had been certificated as having food safety management system ISO 22999:2005 and ISO 17025. With great supports from GCF, many small fish sauce producers had a chance to improve not only product quality but also negotiation power in trading by accurately estimating the protein amount in fish sauce to get higher prices.

From the beginning of the project, 584 Nha Trang Sea Product JSC had bought about 1.9 millions of fish sauce from Fish Sauce households in Khanh Hoa province for export purposes.
